The Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA) is an international medical organization that was founded in 2009.

ALIMA’s aim is to provide a high standard of healthcare in situations of emergency or medical disaster and to improve the practice of humanitarian medicine by developing innovative projects associated with medical research.

Today, ALIMA is among the prominent humanitarian medical organizations serving humanity.

This opportunity is contract under Nigeria Law, 6 months’ renewable and according to ALIMA function grid.

To work in Yobe state.

Understanding Base Logistician

Base Logistician at Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), visit programs and come into contact with children and/or vulnerable adults. Therefore, a criminal record check or a certificate of good character will be required. In situations where a criminal record check or character reference is not possible, a declaration on honour will be requested.

Also, supervise the daily logistics activities and provide maintenance to the ALIMA equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to ALIMA protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

Assessment, Management and function of Base Logistician

Evaluating rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work in accordance with instructions given by his supervisor, and accounting to him/her on progress.
Monitor maintenance activities of infrastructures and write reports
Ensure the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager supervision.
Carrying out daily visits to the facilities, reporting any anomalies or problems to the line manager.
Supervise the daily logistics activities and provide maintenance to the ALIMA equipment’s, facilities and infrastructures, according to ALIMA protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.
Make sure that the compound & office facilities are clean & neat at all times, allocate specific duties and communicate effectively to the relevant staff.
Ensure that all gardening & watering is made regularly to the guest house & offices including pruning tasks at all times.
Assets Management:

Management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to ALIMA standards, have stock management cards and track consumption rates, manage the wastage rates.
Ensure that All fixed Assets & equipment are codded, labeled & tagged in visible terms as per ALIMA’S standard Codding system & are tagged accordingly
Update the fixed Assets register on a regular basis and track movement of Assets as per standards.
Follow up on Asset & Equipment status for maintenance & disposal purposes based on ALIMA’S standards & Donor requirements
Ware house/store & Stock.

Educational backgrounds

Essential secondary education and technical diploma or technical university degree.

Skills Required for this role

Essential at least 2- 3 years of working experience in logistics related activities. Desirable previous experience with ALIMA or other INGOs,
Minimum of 2 years of specialized experience in community based psychosocial support interventions particularly as it relates to social norms change.
Experience with medical international NGO, an asset
Experience in a similar position for at least 2 years.
Demonstrated experience on logistics management skills.
Perfect knowledge of MS Office package, especially Excel & Word
Languages- fluent -English oral & written. Mandatory and local language of the region-Hausa etc
