The two Roles we are Recruiting

TaRL Africa is seeking two motivated and impact-driven professionals to support the delivery of education systems that respond to how children actually learn. We are re-advertising the positions of Associate, Program Delivery & Training (PD&T) and Assistant, Program Delivery & Training (PD&T) to strengthen our work in Katsina State, Nigeria.

Understanding Who are your partners

These roles will work closely with state and local government partners, teachers, school leaders, and communities to improve foundational learning outcomes for children through evidence-based approaches.

What is your functions

The PD&T Associate and Assistant will support the planning, coordination, delivery, and monitoring of TaRL interventions at the state and local government levels. The roles involve hands-on engagement with education stakeholders, training and coaching of teachers and government officials, and contributing to continuous learning and program improvement.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of TaRL programs in collaboration with government counterparts
  • Assist in training, coaching, and mentoring teachers and education officers
  • Contribute to monitoring, documentation, and reporting of program activities
  • Engage communities and local stakeholders to support program success
  • Participate in learning, reflection, and adaptation processes to improve delivery quality

General Requirements

Strong interest in education, learning outcomes, and social impact

Willingness to work closely with government officials, teachers, and communities

Ability to work in field-based, rural, and school settings

Good communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills

Basic report writing and documentation ability

Comfort working in multilingual environments (Hausa is a strong advantage)

Willingness to travel within Katsina State

High level of integrity, teamwork, and adaptability

Commitment to child-centered and evidence-based education approaches

Role-Specific Requirements

Associate, Program Delivery & Training (PD&T)

Typically expected to have:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or related field

2–5 years relevant experience in:

Education programs

Teacher training or coaching

NGO, government, or development work

Experience supporting large-scale education or government-led programs

Strong skills in training delivery, coordination, and stakeholder engagement

Ability to analyze data and contribute to program improvement

Prior experience working with state or local education authorities is an advantage

Assistant, Program Delivery & Training (PD&T)

Typically expected to have:

Bachelor’s degree or OND/NCE with relevant experience

0–2 years experience (entry-level candidates welcome)

Background in:

Education support roles

Community development

Teaching or volunteering in schools

Willingness to learn and support training, monitoring, and field activities

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Previous volunteering or NYSC experience in education is an advantage

Added Advantages (Not Mandatory)

Experience in foundational literacy and numeracy

Familiarity with TaRL, remedial education, or accelerated learning

Experience working in Northern Nigeria

Knowledge of basic M&E tools or data collection
