Priority of NIPES student member
In the selection process, The NIPES student members will be given priority in the selection process. How NIPES encourage Non-members to join NIPES to enhance their chances of selection during this 2026 circle.
Who is Eligible
To be eligible, candidates should have the following requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited higher institution
- Studying science or engineering-related courses
- Open to students in 100-level and above.
- Mandatory course completion: Applicants must complete at least one free NIPES online course and explain the skills learned in their personal statement, to be explain below.

How to apply for NIPES Scholarship 2026

Firstly Complete the Free NIPES Course 2026
This is a part of the application process, applicants are required to enroll in and complete one of NIPES’s free online courses. These courses are designed to develop practical skills in engineering and science. Upon completing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion, which you must reference in your personal statement to be explain below, Start NIPES free course go to the courses page here.
For non members Register for a student membership
The second step, applicants are required to Register on the NIPES website as a student member (for non-members) go to registration page here
Submit a Personal Statement
A personal statement is 500 to 700 words you need to tell your skills and experience you have learned about the course and how they apply to your academic or career goals here. NB. Provide proof of enrollment, student ID and Include your NIPES membership number (if applicable).

- Your background and educational journey.
- Your passion for engineering/science.
- Academic and extracurricular achievements.
- Challenges you’ve overcomeCareer goals and alignment with NIPES’s mission.

Candidate’s Selection Criteria
NIPES make it open to all candidates should know the selection process/criteria is based on:
- NIPES student membership status.
- Quality and content of the personal statement.
- Demonstrated passion for engineering/science.
- Completion of a NIPES course and explanation of learned skills.
- Alignment with NIPES values and mission
Important Note
- Successful applicants will be expected to participate in NIPES events and mentorship programs.
- The scholarship is a one-time award for the academic year 2025/2026.
- Non-members selected for the scholarship will receive a complimentary one-year NIPES student membership
